Who makes jelly?

Do you make jelly spreds and stuff?

If so how hard is it? lol I want to make a jalapeno jelly for crackers (ex mil used to make it) and I loved it. I was going to ask her to make me some (its been 9 yrs since I had it) lol but her mother just died so I dont want to bug her at all. kwim?

I found some recipes online to make it, but am wondering if its a hard thing to do. Also they say to seal the process you need a canning cooker, now can you use a big stock pot with the boiling water and cover it the 5-10 min to seal the jars? Or no?

Any suggestions would help me out, or any good recipes for holiday spiced jelly's for crackers toast etc....thanks.

It's been about 4 years since I made it, but I remember it being pretty easy. Gathering the grapes off our property took more work, lol.
We used plastic containers though.

My dad is huge on canning (tomatos, salsa, beets, applesauce) and I know he doesn't have a canning cooker, so I would assume the boiling water thing would work. If you havent gotten an answer in a few hours I'll call him on his lunch break and ask.

lol cool thanks. I tired googling it and got nothing. lol I am excited to try this. I spend hours in the kitchen every day. I freaking love making stuff, unless its from a box, if its from a box I over cook under cook and burn everything. If its from scratch I am awesome. lol

Lol, thats how I am!! Nothing from a box ever turns out right. From scratch I kick ass, lol.

lol its frustrating when I screw up minute rice, but can cook real rice. lol My kids love rice 'a' roni, and screw it up everytime, so I started making my own with real rice, its not the same persay, but at least the rice is fully cooked or is not a mushy paste. lol

Ok, so just talked to my dad, and he asked what you're canning.
When I told him Jelly he said you do have to use a pressure cooker.
