Yepp, all of this.

And about breastfeeding. I had no idea that it offended some people or that you got stared at out in public. Everyone in my family has breastfed so I didn't know some people thought it wasn't normal.

Don't even get me started on BF! I tried SO hard!! She had a latching issue and was on both sides for an HOUR and still hungry!! My boobs and her mouth did not get along very well.

I bled and it hurt so incredibly bad! I give SO much credit to the moms that can BF! They make it look effortless!

I sympathize! I would have quit after the first couple days if it weren't for the help of the LC's. DS had a bad latch and I didn't know... my nipples were bloody, cracked, blistered. UGH God it was HELL ON EARTH. Once his latch was corrected, my nipples healed within 2 days and we breastfed for 15 months. I cried for a week when he weaned from me. I have the utmost respect for any woman who breastfeeds whether its one day or one year + it's not easy.

The last trimester upper thigh and pubic area cramps. And the fact that it feels like the top of your leg bones are coming out of the joints. I felt like with my last two kiddos that my legs were never going to work again and that I would be stuck in a wheel chair for the rest of my life. But getting up in the morning to use the bathroom was always an adventure!

There was quite a lot I wasn't expecting. Acne, boob leakage, finding my mucus plug in my underwear..it looked like my vagina had a sinus infection.

Not being allowed to eat during labor which was particularly a problem because I labored 36 hours.

Taking a smurf during labor that's always number one.

The amount of unknown fingers that would penetrate me

The amount of people just all in my vagina while pushing

How I hemmoraged afterwards and OB went elbow deep in my vagina to massage my uterus and pull blood clots out. Worst ever. I'd rather deliver my kid a thousand more times then do that again.

How it feels like instead of your OB helping that she rubbed gasoline on your vajay and set it on fire during a push.

How my stomach looked like a deflated balloon.

How empty you feel afterwards...physically.

I'll think of more. Lol.

I wished I would of known that I would have painful contractions AFTER I got home, especially when breastfeeding.

I didn't know there was even a chance of your vagina tearing while delivering the baby until I was in labor with my first and about to push. My doctor said if you start to tear ill probably just cut you a little to help get the baby out. WHAT?!?! Absolutely not, my friend! Also the delivery of the plecenta was a shock to me.

Thankfully I never actually tore with either of my deliveries.

Absolutely! I will be trying and succeeding with my next, I don't care what it takes!

Also, I wasn't told that my boobs would go from looking like this:   to looking like this:

They deflated SO bad! They used to be perfect and perky and now they look depressed lol

That shaking was a symptom of being really close to having baby and that you may not be in pain for active labor. With our first just had a constant backache, doctor on phone said since I could talk through contraction I wasn't far along. Started shaking uncontrollably so husband told me to get in the car. Yeah I was 9 cm dilated at hospital still talking and smiling lol.

I was never told just how bad healing can be both physically and mentally. I had PPD with first, and didn't bond with her until she was six months old.

When I was pregnant with our second I was constantly told to prepare for jealousy and how bad that was going to be to the point of me being worried. No jealous issues have come between our daughters.

I also was never told how wonderful labor can be. I was told how painful it is and I should get epidural. Yes labor was painful, but also beautiful. I had two natural labors, one at home.

I'm seeing slot of posts about not knowing about cervical checks before labor and not being able to eat or drink during labor. But I was allowed to eat through labor I had a muffin and an omlette for breakfast and a ceasar salad for lunch during labor wih my daughter, I think it depends on your labor and specific situation or your hosptial's policy. Also, you can refuse cervical checks before you're in active labor, they are pointless and there is no reason for them. My doctor doesn't do them at all until active labor.
