Help with birth control

Rant and a question, I guess.

I had a D&C last Monday. Doc wants me to come in for a 2 week follow up and talk about birth control. Our pregnancy wasn't planned, so he wants me to get on something to prevent unplanned pregnancies in the future (not like we're not married and stable or anything  ) but maybe he's right, I dont know.

I dont know if I want something permanent or not. I'm still confused as to whether I'm just sad over my loss and may want to try again later or if I really want more.

DH is on the fence. He says maybe later on in a few years... but I'm turning 35 soon. I dont know if I

A. Want to chance having more kids at an older age, or B. chance having another loss.

So either I look into a tubal ligation (IF they can do it somewhat non invasive.. I've heard they can go through the belly button?) or Essure... or... is there anything else I can take that isn't permanent that wont cause moodiness and weight gain? Should we just stick to condoms? I'm confused. :/

Thank you. <3. Even DH thought he was a tool. That's the first thing he asked me the first time I saw him. "Was this planned? We like to see planned babies in here". Smurf you. What is the non hormonal one called, do you know?

It sounds like you don't want anything hormonal so that really narrows your options. You could do the Copper IUD (Paraguard) but those scare me. How about something like a diaphragm or a cervical cap along with condoms.
I would honestly go to a different doctor if you do decide on BC.
Wait a couple years before you do anything permanent, or at least be for sure!

I have the Copper IUD Paragard. Its non hormonal so you dont gain weight on it.

If you are on the fence about maybe wanting more kids, I would go with maybe the IUD since its non hormonal. Or stick to charting your periods and ovulation and condoms.

When I had ainsley they asked me while they were doing my c section if i wanted my tubes tied. Even though I know we arent going to have any more kids, It was a hard decision to just say no more kids. So I have the paragard.

Thanks! Yeah, I was charting and keeping track of AF but I guess I was off, because I got pregnant anyhow. lol. I think I may read up a little more on the IUD. Thanks so much!
