You might have to take lo to a ND for clay baths they can be tricky but espom salt baths and fresh juice can be done at home as well as chelation. I hope it turns out to.be nothing

My first had her 2 month shots, since then we've been vax free. She didn't have a bad reaction or anything but thats when I really started to look into it and question why and if they are needed. Basically it comes down to not wanting to support the program itself that is so careless when it comes to individual safety and did not want to directly inject my LO's with toxins... they ingest enough as it is. Also the diseases they vax for are all treatable and rarely cause death. If I didn't live in Canada or somewhere with a high standard of healthcare I perhaps would feel differently about some vaccines, but right now I don't think they are necessary.

My SO and I have decided to not vaccinate our LO when she is born. We've been making a lot of changes to our lifestyle since finding out I'm pregnant. For example, we only buy local produce and meat. I haven't had a flu shot for 2 years. I'm still debating on the eye drops and Vitamin K at birth, because I don't see the harm in these, but that is subject to change. We have done A LOT of research on vaccinations, and have decided that not vaccinating is right for us. It's pretty scary when you consider just what kind of things they put into the vaccine solution.

The only issue we've encountered with choosing not to vaccinate, is that in our province, children are not allowed in public school unless we show proof of vaccinations. I want my daughter to go to school and learn proper socialization, but if we're forced to vaccinate (and potentially put her health at risk) to do so, then we will just have to make the decision to home school, or move to a place where they don't have these rules.

NB has a vaccine exemption form, your kids don't need vaccines for school. Same laws for all provinces across the board.
eta: sorry it's Ontario, NB and Manitoba that you will need an exemption form. All other provinces don't bother asking about vaccines. You just need to print out the form and have it notarized by a lawyer.

Wow! Thank you for that reply. It was my doctor (and a few friends/coworkers) who told me that vaccinations were mandatory for school. I hated feeling forced to make that decision, but now I feel a lot better knowing that I don't have to choose one over the other. Do you know if the same is applicable for daycare?

I just needed a doctors note for daycare, once my daughter went to j/k the note wasn't good enough and we needed to have a notarized exemption filled out and sent to Health Canada because it wasn't for medical reasons, it was philosophical. I can find you the link to the exemption form if you need it.

Shoot the form I have saved is for Ontario only - but I found these for you:

http://vran.org/exemptions/legal-exemption-forms/

http://app.infoaa.7700.gnb.ca/gnb/Pub/EServices/ListServiceDetails.asp?ServiceID1=10855&ReportType1=All

"While immunization is encouraged, it is not mandatory. When your child enters a New Brunswick school for the first time, you are required under the Education Act and the Public Health Act to provide proof of immunization. Proof of immunization is also required for children who attend a day care center. The law allows parent/s or legal guardian(s) to refuse immunization based on medical reasons or for reasons of religious belief or conscience. An exemption form is available from your local Public Health office. "

You may be able to get the form from the school itself or call your local Public Health office.

I can't thank you enough for this. The decision to not vaccinate has not been an easy one. Especially with pressure from doctors and family members. We've even been told that our child(ren) may not be welcome to certain events if they are not vaccinated. But as another poster pointed out, if their child is vaccinated, why would they be worried about catching something from my unvaccinated child? KWIM?

I know it's silly. Here is the form we were made to fill out:
http://vran.org/wp-content/documents/VRAN-Statement%20of%20Conscience%20or%20Religious%20Belief%20Affidavit.pdf

It says students will only be excluded from school if their is an outbreak or immediate risk of one. They should not be discriminated against at events, thats just ignorant. Thanks for the pt!

I fully vax and on time. With all 3 of my kids.

A few yrs ago my oldest had her flu shot at school, but it was the only time she ever had it. Im not against it at all. I just never think of doing it. lol

ETA: I am glad my kids had all theirs done. When I had lo and she was in the NICU my other kids would have not been able to meet her at all, till she got released, if they were not.

What would have happened if lo had died, and my older kids never got to meet her? I and they would have been really upset. They could not wait to meet her.
