advice that is wanted for those who would like to contribute

1. how do you think the layout should be
2. do you think another subject should be added that you dont see listed
3. what association did you go through that helped along with the scheduling and not just the curriculum.
4.Previous experience with a homeschooling schedule for a child of his age that worked well or didnt

Im satisfied with the material/ curriculum.
Open to any suggestions by teachers or mothers who have homeschooled.

Wow, you really took this thread to heart.

You need therapy. Then, and only then, may you be a decent educator to your child... until then, you are a crap teacher because of how you act. How you respond to others. How you even respond to yourself. You have MAJOR issues and I urge you to fix them so you don't raise a child pulled away from any semblance of normal peers in the name of "My child is gifted so I'll teach him at home" and screw him up more than the worst public school could do.

I'm 50/50 about your schedule honestly. Part of me wants to say extend learning time a bit. but, at the same time he is only 4. I was home schooled as well and I remember my grandfather over doing it and I hating it at that young of an age. I had the worst time with it until I got older and they put me in public 1st-5th grade. Then i went back into homeschool 6th-12th when I was old enough to pretty much do my schooling myself and understand it better. I guess I'm no help here

No no you are.
Its understandable that looking at it seems like its not enough time.
Its how the time is used that can make the difference.
I am with you on the overdoing it completely. My mother when she started wanted me to basically have my face in books all day. I barely did anything fun because school literally became my home.
Finally she looked at my pace and adjusted.
I think I will add time as he gets a wee older. Being 4 and doing something a little more challenging is already hard, but doing it and being expected to also have the mentality of an older child is why I have it laid out the way I do. Trying to find that balance can be hard!

I AM a teacher. This is why I am asking what materials you are using. What methods you are using. How are you going to measure educational growth. I am asking these for a reason. If you are scratching your head and going "I dont know" then you better ASK for help on those too. If you DO know.... then why not answer?

I kind of agree. I mean... the kid is 4. Not 10. Most 4 year olds I know dont have that much of an attention span.

OP, maybe you can add another 10 minute block to each subject and teach each 30 mins a day, just broken up? Also, what do you do for socialization? Do you guys have park time or play dates?

Thank you for understanding the concern for his age group and not just his level of learning. I think I can make each subject about 30 minutes. It doesnt seem too far of a jump. Today we tried a little longer and he gets a little antsy but I think it shouldnt be too bad.
We go through a church that is basically like a base for a particular homeschool association. We do "classes" and group dates and bible study ....etc! Its fun being around parents who are going through the same thing. We also go to the library once a week with other children for story-time and book club.
We have playtime here on the base on tuesdays which my husband takes him to because i just cant physically keep up lol.
We do at least 3-4 things a week to get him out the house socializing for no less than an hr. When weather permits and after pregnancy AND I can get a handle on having 4 kids, I plan to add more to the schedule.

I dont want him to be secluded from the outside and I dont want him to feel suffocated by only work and no play in the inside.

You know what...
I think I saw it, but in all honesty I meant to go back and say something and I didnt.
I truly wasnt ignoring you. It is a very good question and is meant to be asked and answered!

That's awesome. It definitely sounds like he is getting plenty of socialization. Not only that, but trips to the library are learning, playing with other kids are learning. I mean... even things like helping you cook and measure things, could be math and reading, etc. So a lot more learning goes into his day than people realize.
