I think your schedule needs serious work. You can't teach anything in 10 minutes that's going to stick.

You said the ONLY thing in your template that was 10 min was spanish. It clearly is not.

We dont either! We feel he should know that doing regular chores is something we all do for free lol.
Odd chores and "jobs" are the things he will get a Canty buck for though! Its ahrd to get but worth it when you do get it! lol! Its a great system!

You do know that if he were in preschool that he would be getting 3-4 hours of school a day and not 2, right? Why aren't you doing more schooling?

Looks like math and vocabulary are 20 minutes. Just spaced out. I don't think that's enough time but ehhhh, not my kid.

Thats kind of funny since hes doing wonderful on this schedule already. Everything I have taught is sticking. As I said.He is testing a 1st grader. I know hes still 4 and emotionally Pre-K level so I give him breaks and I give him broken down subjects during the day so he doesnt get overwhelmed. Ive "winged" it more or less for a month towards this schedule and hes done better WAY better now then when he were in PS.

It doesnt always deal with the time but the way you utilize it.

You don't have to be snotty about it. You asked what we thought about your schedule and we told you. If I had a child going to school for 2 hours and most of it was play time (not learning play time either) I would be livid. I would pull her ass out asap. Not my kid, just don't ask for opinions, you're gonna get them.

Here on LB they have the kids in prek for 2hrs
where they are playing snacking or playing and doing maybe 20 minutes on 1 subject a day.

Do you consider all that PreK is doing in a regular hours school?
Do you think you have a bunch of 4 yr olds sitting still doing one subject for 30 minutes back to back to back to back to back??
As I said.
I must be teaching him something right if by educational standards to show there is no educational neglect that hes tested 1st grade since being homeschooled in just a months time.
He tested Kindergarten before he left thanks to me and his fathers efforts and now he's testing where I know his potential is.


If you seriously think that kiddies are sitting that still for that long doing stuff that HE is doing at HIS age...youre terribly wrong.
In a more promenant school like a charter or private..probably so
But I think Ive done pretty dang good so far
To be ridiculed on that he wont learn ANYTHING from my template is why I find your advice more personal than meaningful.

Read my WHOLE template because the only thing thats just ten minutes during the day in his studies is his spanish time....


There are multiple subjects that are 10 minutes or less on YOUR TEMPLATE

math-10
vocab-5-10
story time 5-10

Now yes they may be repeated but the point being made was you spend no more than 10 minutes on any one subject except tv and playtime. Why not combine them. If 10 minutes is enough time to teach,practice, and learn a lesson then why do you need an hour to recharge? If you didn't want opinions then you shouldn't of asked for them. 2 hours of actual hands on teaching/learning is not enough. Whats going to happen when he goes to school and its an 8 hour day with far less breaks and popcorn and movies.
