Cartilage piercing

posted 10th Dec
How long do you have to clean it for? The lady told me 3 times a day but not for how long.

I got it pierced last Wednesday the 5th.

Thank you

I just kept cleaning mine until there was no more crusty stuff around it. It took a few months.

Oh ok. Mine has a little bit if crusty but not a lot. It's just sore still.

I got it repierced in the same spot I had it before but that shouldn't make a difference I don't think.

Yours may heal faster... I have an industrial so two holes to care for   But I'd have crusties on them when I'd wake up in the morning, so I'd always clean it then. That went on for a few months.

And no, I don't think having it repierced will make much of a difference... other than pain, lol.

6 weeks minimum. Though it took mine MONTHS to not hurt... smurf the gun, the gun is a horrible, horrible way to get pierced and I used it for my cartilage! EEEEK!

Ok. Thanks!

I hope it heals faster, my first piercing took a long time to heal and it hurt for months after.

I have an industrial bar piercing and i cleaned it 3 times a day for a month thinking it was healed bc it felt healed... Turns out it wasnt lol it didn't heal for about literally 6 mnths. Using the phone on that ear, sleeping in it, brushing your hair, wearing glasses etc. cleaning it as told all affects how it will heal but depending on your body makes a huge difference... I would clean it 3 times aday for a month take out the piercing clean the jewelry and opening and then clean 3x day until you feel its healed when i got mine they told me about 6-8 wks

The gun? Aren't they all like gun things?

The lady used a gun thing with the piercing already in it, it hardly even hurt. I got mine done at Claire's and my first cartilage piercing that I removed was done at icing.

You took your bar out?   Neverrr! All that does is irritate the piercing even more. You're never supposed to take jewelry out until the piercing is fully healed. Even to clean it.

Nooo. Guns are bad. They leave a lot of scarring.

No. You should be pierced by a hollow needle. The gun is unsanitary and a horrible, horrible way to get pierced. Especially for the cartilage!

I get mine done around my 16th birthday which is in march and I remeber during the summer it was still sore.

But for this piercing I sleep on it, I'm like smurf it lol I'll deal with the bit of pain.
