Infant Car mirrors?

posted 10th Dec
So i was wondering if any of you mommas have a mirror that you use to see your rear facing little one? I keep seeing the ones that attach to a head rest but my middle seat doesnt have a head rest and since middle is the safest place for baby I'd prefer to keep him there. Any suggestions???

Here is what I am looking at -

We have a monkey one from walmart, it has a strap and also a thing in the back you can tuck behind the seat if there is no headrest.

I have this in my car and it's so helpful for checking to make sure DS is asleep when he's being quiet and to know if I should drive around a little more before heading home..   although there is one with a light that I wish I'd gotten so that it'd be easier to check when it's dark out

I have thought about this myself. I have a couple of ideas, but I never get around to using any of them. Go get a suction cup that will stick to the window, and use string/zip ties or whatever to attach the mirror to the suction cup. you can have it loose where it wont block your view out the window, but where it's up out of the babies reach so they don't pull it down. Run a string/elastic string around the two head rests where they connect to the mirror holding the mirror in the middle where the child is. If the mirror is too low where you can't see out the back window and your child at the same time, you can get a little mirror that attaches to your rear view mirror so the rear view mirror is positioned so you can see out the window, and the little one is positioned just to see the mirror in front of your child and be able to keep an eye on everything and everyone. that is probably confusing lol. sorry. However, The mirror you are looking at *or I believe it's the same one as I have* it has a clip on the back. Some vehicles have a little hole at the top of the middle seat that have a little bar in it. You can clip the mirror to that little bar and it will hold. *yeah my truck don't have that fun feature. lol.

However you secure it, make sure it won't move or easily come off. I've heard of those mirrors falling off during car accidents or when you have to slam on the breaks. Sometimes even hitting the baby. I never used one, but my best friend did. She loved it and had no issues.
