This guy though, he tried arguing that circing and not circing are basically the same-- cos later in life for the non-circ'd, their foreskin retracts and that's just as painful as circ'ing.

Oh, trust me, I did, too. After showing him ALL my research (even the articles that show the "pros", to show him I'm not being biased), he still wanted to get it done. So, childish as it may be, I started crying and threatened divorce and to kick him out of the hospital if he thought it was going to happen, lol. He saw how strongly I felt about it and made a compromise (a very stupid one, but at least it holds it off for a while): we'll keep him intact unless he gets a bad infection :eyeroll:

well they made me sign the paper saying weather i wanted it done or not... it was not specific from 'mom" or "dad' though, just "parent' if i remember right.. very good question.

LOL, wow. Tell him my 3 yr old is almost fully retractable and he seems to be enjoying the process. lol Totally diff. from ripping the skin off the glans, crushing it and then cutting it off. Wow.

i plan to do that too though, just, huge breakdown, hahah.
we haven't talked about it again in awhile cos he knows it makes me all emotional.
we're both hard-headed at times, but like, at least i have valid points!

Ask him if those cosmetic reasons are more important than your son's life. Considering that more boys in the US die every year from circumcision than from SIDS, I couldn't imagine putting your child's life at risk for something you know is completely cosmetic. Good luck mamma.

it drives me nuts. and the old 'he'll be made fun of in highschool' reason is just so..dated.
circ'ing rates have gone WAY down, so it won't be "weird" by then..
plus like, stop looking at your friend's things in the locker room

Stick to your guns! Maybe he'll come around if he senses a breakdown, lol. DH had the same reasons (after he threw religion and false information he hadn't researched at me).
He may be having a complex; like you're telling him you think intact is great and normal and wonderful and then there he is with his circumcised peen. Men are prideful, lol.
