I want to talk to my doc about having post partum depression. Im pretty positive i have it... im 4 weeks post partum and its only gotten worse. I was wondering, i have an apt on tuesday.. would i talk to him and get perscribed something there if he believes i have it? Or would i be referred to someone else? Like a psychologist? I have medicaid until jan when i will be on my husbands insurance, would that cover medicine? Does anyone know? Anyone been through ths? Thanks.

I've been through it and my obgyn gave me something until I could see a psych about it. I'm sorry, it really is so hard. It honestly was the worst thing I've her been through and that's saying alot considering all the smurf I've been through.

Your doctor could prescribe you something. Alot of people who have PPD get meds through their doctor without going to a psychiatrist. He may recommend counseling as well. Medicaid should pay for meds if they are approved medications by Medicaid.

Mine worked so well! It was amazing! It does take trial and error though to find the right one for you. Good luck!
