Graco smart seat?

posted 9th Dec
If you have it do you like it?

It looks amazing to me. Especially the fact the weight is 5-100 pounds. I'll never have to buy another seat! Aria is about 16 lb and only 15 weeks so I'm guessing with how fast she gains weight, we'll need one around 6 months (just my estimate). So I'm thinking of just getting this for like a Christmas present, from my mom, me, and SO combined. Once its available for site to home shipment;seeing we don't have any Babies "R" Us around here at all, and not within like 5 hours of here that I know of.

But is it worth the almost $300? It looks great but just wondering if there's any downsides before I spend that much money, seeing it's going to be very hard to get the money, but I feel like it's a good choice, and will save money in the end.

I'd never heard of it but it looks pretty neat! I do love the infant carriers for the first few months though. BUT the price really isn't that bad if you think about it... you'd just be buying one seat.. instead of two or three.

I think we'd try to at least make it out of winter in the infant carrier for sure. Because it gets SO cold here, and we just got a cozy cover for her so she could stay warm in the infant seat. But I just want a convertible on hand because we really don't have good stores around here, that way when she needs the bigger one, it's here.

And I know! that's what I've been saying-we just eliminate the need to buy any other seat until she doesn't need one.

We love it!! It's heavy so if you trade a car seat around to different cars it'll be a pain in the butt. We'll get another one when we have another kid and use it from birth on up. It's an awesome seat.

That's great to hear! And luckily we rarely have her in any other cars, so that shouldn't be a problem. I was thinking about just buying an extra base in case we needed it, so we didn't have to mess with our main vehicle's base- but they're $100! Soo, we won't be doing that. Lol.

I was kind of looking at those ones too. What does that one FF up to? This one RF to 40, FF to 65 (I think) and then turns into a booster for up to 100.

It doesnt FF   Its just designed to RF longer, and extend the life of an infant seat. Our big thing is the bases are the same. So we can just move them from car to car.

It's an amazing seat. My LO loves it. I really wish I could of got this instead of a infant one. But it didn't come out until my LO was ready for a big girl seat. I got a Peg Perego infant seat and it was a pain to get it in and out of the car. I recommend this seat 100% Plus you will never have to get another carseat.

Awe   Lol, I guess if I actually was paying attention I would've remembered that. I know I was looking at that one and then found this one through a link or ad, or something. But at least you can keep RF and not have to buy a convertible, that might save in the end, when you buy a FF seat. But I'm not sure, lol I haven't looked at just those yet, only convertibles since I'm planning on RF as long as I can.

AHH this makes me excited to get it lol. I'm happy I found it while she's this little so I can use it as long as possible. I just need her to stay under 20lb until the end of winter, lol. Then we'll just put her into this, because by that time she'll also be big enough to sit in a cart at the store, etc. Right now it'd be a pain because she's so heavy to carry for long, but not big enough to sit lol.

And I know, that's my biggest thing is it's an investment type thing. Like, she's good for YEARS. Since it's even a booster seat, so we just save tons than if we buy a couple more seats.

most seats that claim to "do it all" (RF, FF and booster) normally make DEADLY boosters, it's best to get a good convertible and then later if needed get a combination-to-booster seat

If you don't mind my asking, how come they don't work well as boosters?

The don't position the seat belt where it should like a dedicated booster would, they place the belt high onto the belly instead of low on the hips, which in an accident would cause LOTS on internal damage.
