I feel like a bad person [vent]
posted 9th Dec
I'm 31 weeks & 4 days pregnant. I've been on bed rest for not even two weeks, and I'm miserable. I'm really snappy with everyone. They keep saying it's not that bad or I don't have much longer. 9 weeks is a long time to be trapped in a house! My husband has suddenly developed all of these new friendships and he's never here. I mean, really... He was already working two jobs and now he has all of these things to do with his "boys".
It's like a slap in the face. What about your pregnant wife and 2 year old? My son had to be removed from daycare because DH leaves too early for him to go. So now he's frustrated that he barely sees his dad and he doesn't see any of his friends. He's been in daycare since he was 3 months old. I feel terrible when he asks to get out of the house and I can't take him anywhere. Even if I decided to say screw bed rest, DH takes my car and the keys to his so I have no choice but to stay home.
And then there's the meds. I have no appetite because of them. They make me nauseous and jittery. I can barely sleep. I feel terrible because sometimes I think along the lines of maybe this baby should come early just so I can feel normal again. Its such a crappy thought. Especially since I know that deep down I want her to be as healthy as she can.
This is all so overwhelming. *wipes tears* I'm done.

Start calling your friends to come and hang with you. Tell your husband how you feel. You can also ask a friend to take your son to daycare a few days a week just to get some social interaction. Especially since you can't do much of anything right now.
9 weeks is a damn long time of nothing to do. You are right to be frustrated. With my son I was blood transfusion dependent. It got boring and old sitting around all the time. Just start chatting it up on BG to pass your time.
Chin up momma. You got this!!!!

I don't have any friends because DH always gets really jealous when I talk to anyone other than him. And when I do try to talk to him, it turns into an argument and he says that I'm exaggerating.

He doesn't seem to put you into consideration before he goes and does his thing. Make some friends, have some family over. You have got to do what you have to. He doesn't get to run free because you are in baby jail.

Most of my family stays over an hour away. My mom came to visit today but only stayed an hour. She complained that the drive was too far.

He won't even let me go out to the store alone. I'm pretty sure that's why he takes my car.

There is an issue here that I think you might want to address. It is not my place to tell you what to do but, if my husband treated me like that.... he would be out on his ass. He doesn't tell me what to do nor do I tell him.

There is an issue. We had it when I was on modified bed rest with our son. We almost separated but he changed. 3 years later and here we are again. I'm ready to ask him to just go, but I don't want to make that decision while I'm in this mood.

7 months?! Just thinking about that long makes me feel better. How did you do it?

I have heart problems that developed out of nowhere and getting up to go to the bathroom was difficult for me. I was pretty depressed. I prayed and prayed and prayed. And slowly started getting a little better. I'm far from 100% but I'm able to care for my son again and live a somewhat normal life. I stood for almost two hours over thanksgiving too! I was told that it might not ever get better but I'm glad I've noticed alot of improvement.

Prayer changes things. I'm glad you're feeling better.
