BF Mum's who had to cut dairy, when could you have dairy aga

posted 9th Dec
My DD is 3 months old. I had to cut dairy as it gave her very bad wind pains (and mega smelly farts) yesterday I had a small slice of pavlova with cream and so far so good :-)
So just wondering when other mums who had to cut dairy could start having dairy again.

Hopefully I haven't spoken too soon LOL

I actually only had to cut it out for a month or two. When my DD was a newb she would projectile vomit if I had dairy products. When she was a couple months old she stopped.

Why don't you try goat milk products? They are much healthier for you than cow's milk and don't cause the same lactose issues.

I cut it out for about 1 month. Then we realized that it wasn't the "dairy" but that she had reflux.

I don't think it's to do with lactose, if it was that she wouldn't be able to have my breast milk as breast milk is loaded with lactose I believe. I think it was just her little belly not being able to handle it at first.

Thanks for the suggestion of goats milk though, been having almond milk

Human breastmilk and goat milk have both lactose and lactase which is the compound that breaks down lactose. It's what lactose intolerant people lack and why they can have goat milk. It's a fascinating drink.

LO had a severe dairy sensitivity as a newb, but I've been slowly re-introducing dairy at 4 months old and so far, so good.
I just went with my gut feeling. One day I just thought, "I think he can handle it." And sure enough, he could.
ETA: Goats milk and cheese are awesome though.
