I don't see what asking my doctor would do. As long as a produce enough, it's got nothing negative.

Real milk? Humans don't make real milk?

Go for it, OP!

People tandem nurse different aged children and nurse twins, it will NOT 'steal' the milk away lol, as long as you are fine with bfing in general.

That's what I was gonna say. What would you ask your dr? Can I give my child human milk instead of rice milk? Even though it has immunity benefits and tons of good fat for brain development. Wtf?

She said real food and milk, not implying "real milk".

OP I think unless your son has some serious allergies, to breastfeed baby and that's it.
Not to mention, how are you even sure that your son will want BM? I know if I offered that to my 4 year old, I'd get eye rolls and told it's for babies.

Might want to save up so when they go to college you still have some control over them. There is no reason for it, hes 4. No study shows it does any good after age 2.

Well I'm going to do it regardless if I can supply enough, but I was just curious on others thoughts.

When i was breast feeding my second i left some breast milk i hsd expressed in a bottle my two year old picked it up started to drink it and the second it touched her tounge she vomitted up everywhere her face was priceless! My point is your four old might not even like the taste any more.

I saw something on tv once that said after a certian age there is no benifits to brewst milk coz the stomach acid in older children and adults kills all the nutrients before your body can absorb them... i have no idea from what age that is tho

It's your baby! Go for it. Haha. My DS has a dairy sensitivity, and since I'm nursing,
I have to say away from dairy. Rice milk, soy, almond, ect.. is expensive AF! Haha. Do whatever you feel is right for you and your little ones.

My son just turned 6 yesterday and was never breastfed but when his sister arrived just after h turned 4 he asked to try to breastmilk so I let him in a cup. He loves it so now he gets a glass of pumped breastmilk every morning or just gets it in his cereal. He gets sick so much less often now. It's awesome. So right now I'm currently nursing my 23 month old, pumping 8-12 oz a day for my 6 year old and plan to nurse the new one when he arrives in the spring. Breastmilk at any age is fantastic for you. Hell my husband even drinks it sometimes lol. I make breastmilk fruit smoothies for all of us. It's just good for you.
It think if he likes it when he tries it and you're producing enough, go for it!!
