Quoting kate & tilly:" I didn't think you we're supposed to be induced if you were wanting a vbac. I would ask to be retested ... [snip!] ... for gd. If you're treated as though you have it when you don't its a lot of extra medical cost and stress. Good luck mama"
Different docs do different things. My doctor said she would try a foley cath induction first of all, then break my water then if absolutely needed, pitocen. I am leary of all of them just b/c my last induction did not work at all. I would rather just go on my own so I am pretty confused at this point. I would try the Foley first b/c it does not contain drugs and manually opens you up to a 3 maybe a 4 to get things going. It acts as tho the baby's head was pushing on the cervix. Some women say it hurts while others say it feels like light menstrual cramps. I just am afraid she will induce me too early and it won't work and I will end up with a c-section. I also know GD standards are different with each doc. What my old doc said was ok, this one may find to be an issue. I honestly do not believe I have it, BUT I look and am measuring bigger. She ordered another ultrasound before finding out my numbers from my glucose test. She just wants to make sure he is not getting too big. My issue with that is they are generally wrong about size so much I would be pissed to have a c-section again b/c they thought he was going to be over 9# and he was only 7 or less. I know I would be having a few unkind words to say to some people.
