Your exercise plan???

So I had my son January 31st and gained 63 - still have 25 or so pounds to lose. On a normal day, I jog for an hour but this morning, I walked on a treadmill at 3.7 MPH on a 5.5% incline for a half hour, did lower-body weight lifing for 15 minutes, then got back on the treadmill on a 7.5% incline and at 3.7 MPH....needless to say, that, with eating healthy, is how I'm trying to get my weight off. although it's been a pain in the ass, albeit, I didn't really try until April.

So what is your exercise plan and has it worked to help you? I'm asking because I'm looking for the best one that will get this weight off ASAP.

Pilates... keep jogging and eating right too!

well i don't have a routine quite yet.. but i plan on basically just doing conditioning.. my husband wants to try P90x... but i do know that it is better to eat 6 small healthy meals a day rather then 3 large ones .. for the purpose of keeping your metabolism up.. and give you more energy.. but i don't know if i have time for all of that planning.. but i'm sure going to try,... we should be "weight loss buddies" keep encouraging each other and measuring weekly to see how we've done.. i want to lose 25-30 more lbs

oh i ended up 20 lbs lighter too after birth

Although I know I have to really work at losing this weight, isn't Pilates really high-impact? I'm asking just because I'm trying to work my way up to certain things - I'm TRULY out of shape.

I started working out today because i'm getting married in 5 months and I don't wanna look huge! I still have close to 20 lbs. to lose. I do a program on the eliptical for 30 minutes twice a day and we have a hydrolic weight machine and i'm switching between upper body every other day and lower body on the other days. We'll see how it works.

Then let's do it! Even if we cheat, we should keep a record and give each other support, being we want to lose the same amount of weight. Do you have a timeframe? I'm going back to Chicago for the August 7th weekened for the Cubs/Cardinals games and want to get at least 20 lbs off by then.

Well, that's only 4 lbs per month - that should make it easier for you! And congrats on your wedding! I started my 3rd trimester that weekend so losing weight was kind of out of the question for obvious reasons! HAHA!

And to be honest, I hate exercising but if I quit, I won't ever go back - and I KNOW the hard work will pay off...but man, I really don't like working out - but feel great afterwards for sure!

I have about 66 days until the 7th, so actually, I have 65 days to lose 25 lbs...I know I can do it - that's only approximately 1 pound every three days - completely attainable - well, maybe not easy, but it makes it sound not as hard to accomplish.

i'm not sure whats realistic for my timeframe but i'm going home to visit at the end of July... I want to throw it in everyones face that I lost all the weight.. my grandma always picks on me for being a little overweight.. and I HATE my cousin and she always used to talk shit about me behind my back because i gained so much when i got married.. BUT now she weighs more then i did at my peak weight.. haha... so our time frames are close.. lets both try the 20 lbs

I had my baby girl March 30th. I been walking every nice day. Not really affective. I still got about 40 lbs to lose. I gained almost 10 lbs. But im going to do a calorie diet and some more working out. Problly jogging and lifting heavy stuff. I also love to dance. And Im going to drink 8 glasses of water a day.
Burn more clories then you consum.

Ok, deal! Let's do it! Besides, I doubt your family will notice if you still have 5 or so pounds to lose.....and if they make a snyde remark, just say "well, these round hips and belly heald my baby safely inside of me and protected them for 9 months"....and everytime you look in the mirror, although you'd like to lose weight, think something like "these thighs and hips are from my beautiful baby"...that always helps me out.

OOHHHH!!! I need to quit smoking and drinking Pop too.. So you have to encourage me on that one too.. I haven't had Pop in 2 days now.. so hopefully i keep that going.. .. .. maybe thats what my headache has been from..

Well, you just had your baby just over 2 months ago so you're doing fine and what you need to do for sure - good luck! I was too lazy to start trying until April, and I had my son January 31st.

I used to drink a lot of Pepsi all the time but haven't had any in about 8 or so years now - I know it's difficult, but you'll feel so much better if you dont' drink it. The thing is that I think "well, I could have one, but is it worth gaining weight and feeling like crap afterwards and then beating myself over it for giving in." That always helps - my family eats my favorite desert, Tirimisu, all the time and although it's VERY hard for me to turn down, I always think "well, once it's gone and my family eats it, I won't even think about it anymore."

And I know how hard it is to stop smoking - the ONLY reason I ever stopped was because it was the night I found out I was pregnant - May 31st, 2007, so it's been just over a year. But before that, I couldn't stop.....but try to keep it in mind how much easier it is to breath when you exercise adn try to lose weight when you're not smoking and how much better you felt while pregnant and not smoking (if you quit while pregnant).

And yes, BOTH caffeine and nicotine cause really bad headaches.....
