The reason cereal fill's them up is because they can't digest it. Think of what happens to your tummy if you eat a lot of white rice. Its full and bloated and can cause constipation. Same thing with your baby.

My Son has really bad GERD...to the point he was hospitalized for it. He was 2 months old at the time. They told me to put a tbls per ounce in with his formula. It gives it more weight and helps it stay down. He's done great with it. He's 3 months old now, and still takes the same amount without a problem.
