Cramping

I am 5 weeks postpartum and having lower abdominal cramps. I'm not breast feeding and my postpartum bleeding stopped 2 days ago. Just wondering if this is probably period cramps. How soon after giving birth did your period start?

7 months. But everyone is different I've heard of some who had AF return a few weeks later

for me that would be awful to get a period that soon after giving birth... that is one of the ONLY things I enjoy about pregnancy, not having periods   thankfully I breastfeed and I didn't get one until about a year after I had my first child... and when I did get my first one after I was like what is going on with me... oh yeah I forgot what my periods are like UGH!!!

Wow that's longer than I thought. Ok so another question, I'm planning to use "the pill" for BC. When can I start taking it if I don't have AF to know when to start it?

just start it, I wouldn't worry about the day after I had my first I just started it on a Sunday... it will help to regulate your hormones and give you a period I would think
