I considered, at one point, taking my dog Roscoe up there and letting the children who are able visit with him a bit. He's a 3-legged hound, big sweetheart. I thought, maybe it'd reinforce that they can get better, and it's okay to be sick/different, especially for the younger ones.

i wonder if any of them have kids because while i cant imagine what you have gone through i do know that nothing would EVER be able to fill that hole.

people get very dissociated from pain that they cannot feel directly. i figured with the loss of a little child they would be at least more compassionate.
another way to think is maybe they see your posts or whatever, and see your sadness or struggle as something that needs to be fixed so they give their cheap advise.

I'm not 100% sure. I'm going to see what the procedure is, I think, and if we can't go on his birthday I might do it on/around his two year anniversary.

People can be cruel, sadly. You have every right to express how you feel and everyone deals with the loss of a loved one differently. My niece was murdered ten years ago and within a week of her death I had people telling me to 'get over it.' After a decade, it is easier and I'm not so sad as often but every once in a while I really think about it all and it makes me cry. And that's okay. Allow yourself to feel any emotions that come forth. Bottling up any of it is not beneficial. I think a lot of people just come across as mean or disinterested because they haven't been in the grieving person's shoes, you know? Unfortunately, though, some people are just smurfs. ):

I really do hope you can take comfort in the good times you've had woth Seth. I am mostly a lurker but I've read quite a few of your posts in the past and I think it'd really make him happy to know how much you are thinking about him.
