Well anyone who saw me "spank" him would not even consider it spanking. I said that, I mean, it's nothing at all. I'd do what I do in front of anyone and no one would think anything of it. Not a big deal. He's a smart happy kid lol. He's not abused lol

Maybe he just really liked the taste/texture?

I used to save the last bite of what ever meal I was eating especially dinner. My mom would put me in bed and I'd be chewing on something. I used to hide it in my cheek

Go time five whole minutes. Doesn't sound long but to have food sitting in your mouth, that's not just savor inch flavor that's excessive

Well, I'm not saying he's abused lol.
I'm just saying I personally would have went about it a different way. A few weeks back me and LO were at home alone so we went outside. I was letting him play in the yard and trying to clean out my car (I was keeping an eye on him, just ducking in to grab papers to sift through and throw out ones I didn't need) and caught him putting two rocks in his mouth.
I warned him to spit it out, he refused. I didn't want to give him more time to swallow them so I just slid my finger between his lips, hooked it around the rocks and used my other hand to push down his chin so he'd open his mouth and it wouldn't catch on his teeth. After that, we went back inside and he went to time out.

I also had bad experiences with my parents hitting too much or too hard, so I'm very careful about how I approach things with LO. Ah, it's hard to explain lol, I guess I'm a little sensitized to spanking.

Just becAuse the people who see you do it don't say anything doesn't mean they think it's fine. It just means they don't say anything to you about it. My sister pops her son, almost three, on the butt when he doesn't behave and I don't say anything to her about it because I know she wit listen. But I won't be surprised when my nephew starts hitting people for doing stuff he doesn't like.
It's not abuse in my opinion, but it's still not an appropriate or affective discipline method.

My son tries to put these berries in his mouth when were outside, and I'm pretty sure they're not edible! It scares me! I scoop them out, too lol. The pie was just strange though lol. It was dribbling down his chin and he was mumbling with his lips closed

I've never really met a kid that it did work with.
My friend spanks her two children, 2 and 4. They're insaaaane little kids lol, I mean, I can't be around them for extended periods or I just want to burn smurf down. It's that bad.
I get that it may and probably does work for some people and may work for OPs, but it's just not a method of discipline I'd want to use in my household. But that again, also probably stems from the fact my parents had issues knowing where/when to stop...

I think real spankings are appropriate when the kid involved tries to do something really dangerous, like run into the street or something. But two is too young for actual spanking
