My poor baby :-( *WARNING*

posted 9th Dec
On Friday night my daughter and I were in my room getting the sheets off of my bed. I walked out of the room and she normally follows but was lagging behind. As I was putting the clothes into the washer I heard her scream like I NEVER have before. I bolted over there only to find her standing in the hallway covered in blood. I asked her what happened and she said that "TV not nice me". She had tripped and hit the corner of the TV stand and cut her eyebrows open..badly. I FREAKED out and called my mom to come home ASAP. I took her to the ER and they glued it instead of stitching it. Turns out she's allergic to the glue and now it's even worse than before. Her eye is black and blue and swollen. I'm afraid to take her to daycare like this. I feel so bad. Like a horrible mom :-(

My son did the same thing just two weeks ago. You need to go back to the ER and have it stitched so it heals properly and with minimal scarring. She will scream and cry and it will be heartbreaking even though you know she can't feel it (they'll numb her) but because it's scary.

My daughter is 23 months and got the exact same injury and treatment a few weeks ago. Are you sure this is a reaction and not just the bruise from the injury showing up. When dd cut her eyebrow open it started turning black and blue the next day and I took her to the doctor to see if it was infected or something and she said it was just forming the bruise from the initial injury.

I took her back yesterday because I thought it was getting infected. And I took her back today because its even worse. They just gave me some cream to take the glue off. He said that the cut is pretty much closed. She just has a HUGE blister right next to it from the allergic reaction.

Aww, that poor thing! I'm so sorry! Don't beat yourself up too much. You can't be over her like a hawk every single second without being one of those insane helicopter parents. Things like this happen! Just go in and explain to them what happened, make sure they have the cream if they need it and if they have questions, give them the number for the ER you used.

Hope she feels better.. i wouldn't worry to much about the daycare just explain what happened i'm sure they have seen worse I have 4 kids and the daycare i took mine to didn't say much if one of the kids had stitches or something b/c they knew my kids are always hurting them selves walking into stuff or pulling stuff over on them ( my kids are accident prone).. The people who run the daycare's wont say much unless you don't say anything to them or they can see the child is being harmed purposely
