Low temperature.. What should I do?

posted 9th Dec
My husband hasn't been feeling well for the last few days. I just took his temperature now and it's 96.4. Is that too low? Should I take him to the ER?

did you take it under his tongue? If so, did he have anything cold to drink soon before you took it?

Took it under the tongue. No he slept for an hour right before he took it and didn't drink anything before he took it.

Was his lips closed tight and was it a digital thermometer?

I didn't hear him snoring so I don't think he had him mouth open. Yes. It was a digital. I made him take it twice just to make sure it wasn't a mess up with the thermometer.

That's why I don't like digital thermometers. They are not always accurate, we have thermometers at work that always read low temps. Does he feel warm?

He does feel warm. That's why I wasn't sure why he had a low temperature. I would have though he had a fever.

I would change the batteries and take it again.

I just took my temperature with it to see what happened and it came out 98.5. Normal. Then I took his again and it was still 96.4.

Did he feel warm after his nap? You should wait at least a half hour to check. But anyways, give him some water to sip on and see if he will eat anything or have him go take a bath.
