co-sleeping to bassinet trasition

posted 9th Dec
Who has had to transition their baby from co-sleeping to a bed of some sort and had difficulty doing so? If so, suggestions? I need my 4.5 month old baby to sleep in her bassinet, but as soon as I lay her down in it, she wakes up within five minutes. She doesn't wake up when I put her in her swing, but I don't want her sleeping all night in her swing. I'd worry about her wiggling out.

Do you have a crib? My oldest hated the bassinet but would sleep all night in her crib...just a thought

My son went from co-sleeper to crib at 4 months. He slept better in his own room though...first time he slept in his room alone he slept 8 hours straight!

I had never thought of that. She does have a crib, but it's upstairs and my bedroom is downstairs. There's nowhere downstairs for it, and I really don't wan to have to put her upstairs while she's still nursing at night. Going up and down stairs in the middle of the night does not sound preferable to me.

We moved our dresser to her room and put her crib there...we're going to do the same with LO it made getting dressed a bit more annoying but it was worth it! She slept through the night on her crib

Best choice I ever made! Both my babies are super light sleepers and wake up over any noise. If I got up to go to the bathroom they would wake up and stay awake, its so much easier now! My daughter started sleeping in her own room 2 months ago and sleeps all night long now too. Oh, and she self soothes constantly, I will walk in her room in the morning and she will just be awake and playing. When she was in my room she would cry for me as soon as she woke up.
