re: Credit Reporting and applying for a job

Yeah, that's ridiculous. If he was in charge of running a company's budget, that would bd different, but a basic stocking job? That's awful.

family is helping me temporarily. i am still looking for a job but i dont have much other option. i am single because my ex was abusive and when i left him it was because he WASNT getting the help he said he would get. well after i have the baby somehow i plan on working as soon as im allowed even if its a laborous job (which is probably the only way im going to get a job) im pretty stuck in a rut.

i know! i have applied everywhere so far in my little area. i mean even fast food places but i have unfotunately worked at some mcdonalds in the past and i quit really quickly (better job offers came in and i couldnt pass them up for mcdonalds so i just left i know that was bad of me) so they dont want to rehire me   and ihave been applying like crazy. i had hope that the seasonal christmas season i would get something becasue they would be hiring for the season but nope i got nothing.

Perahps your county office has a training program or counselor you can speak with?? My county trains people for CNA positions and food service positions. Both start for $12-14/hr and the food service jobs go up faster.

I used to work at McDonald's. I worked there for three months and I hated it.

I would apply at Target and other places like it or offer to babysit for some friends.

I know where I live, the school districts are hiring like crazy, and they don't always adertise that they have open positions. I would call and see if you could get something there, even if it's a bus driving position - it isn't wonderful, but you still get a salary, free after school care, your home when the kids are home, that kind of thing. I know our operations center is always hiring, I would call your local one and just see.

I think it's downright idiotic to turn someone down for a job based on their credit score UNLESS the job requires handling massive amount of other people's money (high level accounting) or requires a top secret security clearance. Heck, some of the premier financial advisers in this country (Dave Ramsey to name one) have horrible credit scores. His is ZERO because he only uses cash and even paid for his house/car with cash and has no lines of credit and doesn't trust bank accounts.

i did ask about this when i went to the office recently (medicaid) they told me that she didnt recommend me trying while im pregnant and to wait til after the baby is born. (because its like i train, get the job and then have to leave to have the baby) i mean she was like "suggesting" that i wait.

i worked at target in 2006 and my transportation became unreliable (i was 17 didnt have my license yet or a car and my dad was my transport) so i had to leave suddenly and now they wont hire me. i worked at walmart in 2008 and my daughter got really sick and i had to be at the hospital with her and there was nobody to walk her afterward while she was recovering and i had no medical leave time saved up yet (it was before my probationary time ended) and i just quit there too before they fired me and i have applied literally every other place that is in driving distance from my house for me (within 30 minutes)

Is there any way at all you could move or is it not feasible? There are tons upon tons of places in Oklahoma and Texas that are begging people to work because they just can't find enough workers.
