Hide his Xbox controllers. Lol That's what I did when my husband had been on waaay too long. All he did for about a month was play the damn thing, and I got sick of it so I took the batteries out of the 2 wireless controllers and replaced them with dead ones, hid the rest of the batteries, then hid the controller that hooks up to the xbox.   And he never knew I did a thing. Lol not till I told him 2 months later.

You should start stashing money if you can. There are lots of organizations that can help you if you do decide to leave. No one should have to just put up with being treated like that. Take it from someone who knows: It will NEVER get better.

Lol he's not usually always on, but he goes through phases to where that's all he wants to do.   Now I know all I gotta do is hide his stuff lol

my ex was emotionally abusive and it just got worse every time we would fight, he would hit the wall or something else before hitting me and now I just found out from his sister that he hit his baby mama and broke her nose, i am so glad i got out of that relationship when i did. also my husband has been overseas twice and we rarely fight, but when we do he always has to walk to a different room before he starts yelling and he does have some anger issues, just not as bad as he use to before and during the army. It just sounds like your making up excuses for not only you SO but for yourself too just so you don't leave him. I do believe that physical abuse can start out at emotional abuse and escalate from there. Don't let him do that to you especially with your child in the house.

my daughters father from a previous relationship was abusive.. to the point he gave me a black eye.. but his step father beat the crap out of him for that one.. and from what i heard about his relationships after mine he was abusive towards them as well.. so it follows lol
