epidural question help please
posted 9th Dec
I am considering an epidural because I have chronic body pain that starts in my lower lumbar as well as scoliosis, degenerative disk disease and a bulging L2 I have had epidural shots before for it in my back and hips but they didn't do much so my doc stopped them I am increasingly scared that it may have worse after effects from having one in the long run has anyone had back or pain problems after having one for labor and delivery? I know I have awhile yet just becoming really worried

With the epidural from my oldest I had no pain or anything afterwards. With my baby though I had pain like the first week home from it then starting after Thanksgiving (when baby was 4 months old) it started hurting again. Though I also slipped and fell so that may have caused it since it hurt for about a week and hasn't hurt since.

I've found after Noah that i have had back pain..i sure do hope it goes away. It's like this pressure, awful feeling..kinda like a nerve pain. I doubt it'll stay though.

Because of your scoliosis it could be best to have one I know with my severity of mine it makes it into a complication with the contractions so close together and I never had a problem with the epis I am in love with them pain free hrs and where I gave birth I could always ask for a different dr to do it if I felt uncomfortable with the first bcuz thats where the pain is caused from.. The dr not inserting it right... So ask for a different dr if you feel the need to..
