Did you get put under or the epidural? I got an epidural
How did you feel? It made me nauseous and I wound up throwing up in my mouth and had to swallow it back down *gag*
Did you feel any pain during the procedure? Only tugging (because my body moved) when they were taking my daughter out.
How long did you have to wait to hold your baby? She was born at 5:27pm and I didn't get to hold her for about an hour because I was shaking so badly from the epidural.
How long was your hospital stay? Admitted Monday at 2pm and I was discharged Wednesday at 11am.
Do you still bleed vaginally after? I bled for 6 weeks and got my period four days after I stopped bleeding and that period lasted for 10 days.
How long did you have to wait to eat? Only certain foods? I didn't eat until Wednesday morning. I had no appetite, I just drank a lot of water.
Do the staples hurt? I didn't even notice them honestly. I had 36 staples and the only reason I knew I had them was when I got them removed. Never hurt a bit.

I had my epidural already, so I was awake during the operation. Was able to hold LO right afterwards (they cleaned him up and weighed him first). Started breastfeeding within an hour of birth.
Hospital stay was 4 nights and 3 days. I still bleed for like 6 weeks, but I ate whatever I wanted to!
And the staples didn't really hurt, they came out a week after the c-section.

Did you get put under or the epidural? How did you feel? Epidural first then they did a bolis dose, then found out i don't numb on the right side so i got put under (they don't always put you out...
Did you feel any pain during the procedure? asleep so no.
How long did you have to wait to hold your baby? couple hours...
How long was your hospital stay? 72 hours after procedure as long as the baby is healthy
Do you still bleed vaginally after? yes, still had to wait 6 weeks and still had to cleanse with water instead of toilet tissue
How long did you have to wait to eat? Only certain foods? i believe it was 12 hours after the procedure but they wouldn't let me eat incase i had a c-section which i obviously did
Do the staples hurt? you don't feel it unless when you go back to get them taken out and u havnt kept them dry... it shouldnt hurt getting them taken out unless they have stared rusting...

Did you get put under or the epidural? How did you feel?
With my oldest, I had an epidural, with my other two I had a spinal block, which I found much more effective. I had a blood pressure drop with my youngest after the spinal took effect, that made me feel like I was about to puke, but other than that I felt fine.
Did you feel any pain during the procedure?
With my oldest, yes. I felt them cut me open (they hadn't given enough time for the epidural to take full effect, my son was in distress). With my younger two, I felt them move stuff, but it was more like...awareness. I knew they were doing stuff down there, but I couldn't tell you what.
How long did you have to wait to hold your baby?
With my oldest, I was in the recovery room...the NICU team was working on him in the OR (he wasn't breathing) when they took me over...they brought him to me and let me hold him while they explained they were taking him to NICU. With my other two, only til I was stitched up. When we left the OR to head to the recovery room, I was carrying them.
How long was your hospital stay?
4 days with my oldest, 2 days with my second, 4 days with my third. The standard is 72 hours.
Do you still bleed vaginally after?
That's unavoidable unfortunately
How long did you have to wait to eat? Only certain foods?
I was able to eat by the next meal time.
Do the staples hurt?
Yes, they do. Standing is a bitch while they're in. They usually remove them the day you head home though, and replace them with butterfly stitches, which are SOOOOOOOOOO much better.

I got the epidural both times. They took me to the operating room, did the shot and lost feeling in my legs and lower abdomen in less than two minutes.
I didn't feel any pain at all during the procedure. Just a lot of pressure.
I got to hold my baby once I was stitched up and in the recovery room.
My hospital stay was three days with my last baby. A week with my twins only because I stood there because one of my twins was having problems.
Yes I bled vaginally after but maybe for only a week or two.
They make you wait to eat. You either have to poop or fart before they let you have solids but they will let you have broths, jello, stuff like that.
I didn't have the staples. I had the dissolvable stitches both times. Hope that answers your questions

Did you get put under or the epidural? How did you feel? The first and last I was awake and talking, my second was a failed Vbac and I was knocked out. I felt totally fine afterwards. A little shaky.
Did you feel any pain during the procedure? None what so ever. It's kind of like a internal massage, you can feel everything but no pain.
How long did you have to wait to hold your baby? Just until I was sewn up and in recovery. Asides from the boys who were early, the baby goes with Dad in recovery and wait
How long was your hospital stay? 4 days with all the boys and 2 with my daughter
Do you still bleed vaginally after? Yes, very much so.
How long did you have to wait to eat? Only certain foods? The first two c-section until you farted or crapped, I just lied, the last at a different hospital they let you eat right away. No restrictions at all. I ate sushi most of my stays.
Do the staples hurt? No, not at all.

Did you feel any pain during the procedure?
First time, No Second time, it wore off and the anesthesiologist so he gave me morphine to kill it
How long did you have to wait to hold your baby?
First time it took them over 5 hours to bring my baby to me. Took my dad yelling at them and telling them He was tired of hearing me yell at people over it and if they didn't get my baby to me, he would get her for me. Second time DS didn't leave my side but twice.

First time they took my staples out the day we left the hospital. Ended up busting open after 4 hours of being home.. Second time They left them in for about a week. One staple came out and snagged my clothes so I took it out. They didn't hurt at all

Quoting Tiff + 2[girls]:" I also forgot to ask.. how long did it take to fully recover from the c section?"
The doc will release you about 6 weeks out for excercise and work. Some women are healed by then, others take longer. It depends a lot on you.

after a week i could walk around normal but after the 6 weeks (like a normal delivery) you can usually resume normal activity...
