Yes you can. Since he does have an income, your support is a percentage of what he makes, disability or not.

No. I took my ex to court and he is required to pay me what he gets from social security and a part of his VA disability as well. Income is income. Earned or not

My bd works and is on disibility and does not pay cs at all. When we went they said they will not take money from anyone on disibility and give it to anyone else, including his kids.

I know a few others on disibility and they they dont pay anything either its the same as welfare.

Im sorry...but I think that is ridiculous. I understand they are on a set income....but that should not mean they can procreate and not be responsible finicialy.
I mean parents who are living with thier kids and on ODSP still have to support thier kids. KWIM

We went for custody arrangments, but they always include support in the court papers. I never asked for cs at all. I dont want it or need it. I dont think parents need to pay support if they see their kids and pay for all their needs when they are with me, dipares formula clothing food sports etc......Why do I need money from him? Does not make sense to me at all.

I wasnt talking about you're family specifically. I was talking about ones more like OPs....where there is no support - emotionally, finacially, etc. Few parents are able to come to agreeable situations like you and your child(s) father, where you are getting support, just not in the form of a cheque, even though he is on assistance....he can still support his child(ren)....so why does the government think people like OPs BD shouldnt have a deduction from the assistance when hes NOT doing ANYTHING for his child? KWIM

I felt the same way up until last year. BD see's his child once a month and fully supports two other children.

The list goes on and on with my BD.

IDK. I dont see why they should take money from someone low income to give to someone else even if it is for cs.
I have 3 kids my oldest is 10 and her dad is rarely in her life and does not support her and has not since she was 14 months old. I would never take him for cs.

And my two other kids dad, only see's them twice a month, but when he has them he pays and has his own stuff. Its every second Sunday. Even if he was not on disibility I wouldnt ask for cs.

And thats for you to do. But you shouldnt make it out like women are wrong to ask for CS

I never said that at all.

I think its not fair to get money from someone who is already struggling to fed themselves. You dont get much on disibility or even welfare. And our system agrees which is why they dont take money from them for cs.
