BREASTFEEDING??

HOW IS BREASTFEEDING FOR U MOMMIES? I'M DUE DEC 29th AND IM THINKING ABOUT DOING IT...DOES IT HURT? IS IT HARD FOR THE BABY TO LATCH ON? *I MIGHT SOUND CRAZY BUT I'M A 1st TIME MOM&NOBODY AROUND ME HAS DOES IT*

It hurts at first, and some babies have trouble latching. It's hard to say for sure what your experience will be.

1) Stop with the all caps it makes me headache worse
2) I personally never had pain breastfeeding unless her latch was off. Both my girls had a perfect latch the first had issues sucking effectively and nursing didnt work out for many reasons. My youngest was a pro but i had supply issues. I made it to 9 months with her

Make sure you have the baby nursing latching ASAP after birth. I delayed all checks with the exception of the apgar which was done on my chest for 2 hours after birth. She was nursing within 30 minutes of being born. Took 15 minutes to get a good latch and that was that.

Its completely natural so just go with it. As soon as the baby is born, let him latch on. It might be difficult and a little painful at first, but it does get better. The first few weeks will not be easy, I'm not going to lie, but if you can establish a good breast feeding relationship, the rest is smooth sailing & you will not regret it. Let the hospital know that you want to breast feed, and tell them no bottles and no pacis. Also, ask for a lactation consultant for help if you need to.

If and when I have another child I want to BF again and I hope to make it AT LEAST past a year.
We only made it to 5 months with my last. But 4 years is smurfing awesome!

Dont doubt yourself. Time goes by so fast once you have kids. Just nurse him day by day and before you know it, he'll be a toddler!

Yeah this site is kinda the reason I decided to BF. I grew up around BFers but never really liked the idea (I thought it was gross)
But I BFed both my children   Not for as long as I had wanted but I did it.
