Is it wrong or ungrateful....

when someone buys your child a gift, to be upset if it's the wrong size (clothes) or NOT age appropriate (toy)? D&D

I mean, kinda. I mean it's the thought, right?

I would think so.
If it were the wrong size or not age appropriate, I would probably just say how thankful I am that they kept LO in mind, but ask if they could exchange it for the right size or give me the receipt and allow me to do so.
My grandma has given me a lot of clothes that are way too big for LO, but I've just kept them and eventually he'll fit.

If it's the wrong SIZE? No, because sizes are easy to mess up.

If it isn't age appropriate, that seems a little silly for them to do. If the kids 3 and buys them a game way above their comprehension level, I would be a little   simply because it's useless and not going to be used.

Yeah, I'd still be grateful they thought of my kid... not everyone knows sizes or even what toys what age group plays with, honestly.

I get frustrated when people would buy my 3 month old 12 month clothing for a specific season. Like I have no idea when she will be in that size and if the outfit can ever be worn. If its a toy she can grow into then I just hold onto it.

I don't think it's wrong. SO's mom alwaysssss asks what my daughter wants/ needs and what sizes and then she never takes my advice. It's so smurfing annoying honestly.

No it's not wrong to be upset. But the way it's handled could possibly be. I'd accept it and smile, the return it later   or regifted it. If the toy was too advanced I'd save it. But if it was babyish I'd save it for a baby shower gift or a bday present.

Yes I think so...it's the thought that counts, at least they were thinking of them. Just keep it until they fit the clothes or are old enough for the toy.

I think so- I mean you can always exchange it and even if you can't it was a gift

Let's say this gift can't be returned or exchanged because there is no receipt. So basically, you have to give it away or save it for several years for it to get used.

I'd still have the same opinion.

No because it can be used at a later time. DD is very petite so its normal for her clothes to not fit properly
