I do not get shots myself. Mostly because the one they want you to get is the flu. Every time I get the flu shot, i get the flu, so I just skip it.

I got the flu vaccine only because i got it with my first pregnancy. wouldnt dare tell my mom that though, she was totally against me getting anything of the sort. have only gotten genetic testing down but id only get the flu shot. different strokes for different folks.

I got the flu shot, but not the DTaP until right after he was born. DH and I both got it before leaving the hospital.

I did get the genetic testing (they didn't call for amnio since testing was negative for defects, but I would have declined). We decided that if DS had any defects, that we would want to research everything about it before he was here. It wouldn't have changed our decisions about it and he would still be very loved, but we would want to be completely informed.

Well I didn't get sick from the flu shot, it is like pretty much impossible because it is a dead virus in the flu shot. Only the nasal flu vaccine contains a live virus. This occurred a few months after getting the flu shot, idk where in the hell I got it from either lol.

Quoting £egendary £ex:" very true (about the immune system being more sensitive while pregnant). makes sense"

I have spent months thinking I was crazy for even THINKING it could be related to the DTaP. My symptoms started about a month and a half after I had Adrien. The other day while I was at a check up I asked the nephrologist if there was even a slim chance it could be that and his response was absolutely and it was what caused my son's reaction back in June, but it was a site reaction, mine was the immune system. He said women who are pregnant, or who have been recently should never be vaccinated, there are too many risks involved. I don't know if him being a kidney specialist sways his opinion, but this is something he sees every day, so I am sure it could.

If you get a vaccine while pregnant, it will give the baby some protection too.
Edit: Thats part of the reason they recommend the flu shot to pregnant women. That and pregnant women are more immunocompromised than when they are not pregnant.

Yea, it sucked big time & I was really worried about DD. Then when I was like 36 weeks pregnant, I went in for my check up with the doctor & they did an ultrasound every time, well my fluid was VERY low. They were talking about inducing me that day because of how low it was, well they had me stay in the hospital for a few days & pumped me full of tons of IV fluids & luckily her fluid levels went back up so they sent me home & I didn't need to be induced any sooner than was planned.

I think it's BS, I totally got sick from it. I rarely get sick anyway. Idk I don't like that it has a higher rate of side effects than some other vaccines out there

That sucks though, omg
