No flu shot or DTAP either time. And I didn't get any of the genetic testing done. I had a bunch of ultrasounds though

I got the DTAP because I know a lot of time newborns get whooping cough from their parents & it can be deadly for them. I got the flu shot as well because I didn't feel like getting sick as hell while pregnant because you can't do much about it & that smurf sucks. But so much for that because I ended up getting the Norovirus & I was super sick I couldn't even drink water without throwing up. They kept me in the hospital for a few days because of it, my DD's hb was up because I was soo sick & I was dehydrated as hell.

oh yeah, with my second we did the blood work, came back with a positive percentage, so they sent us to another medical center, did the ultrasound, then suggested we do the amnio--buuut, we figured, either way, not gonna change anything, wasn't worth the risk-and all ended up being fine

I got the flu shot my first pregnancy but I'm also a nurse and although it isn't mandatory, my doc wanted me to have it due to being pregnant and my job... also I wasn't allowed at work to go into patients rooms when the whole H1N1, outbreak was on... which quite frankly I was happy about... isolated patients and being already hot with pregnancy and having to constantly gown and glove was not my idea of a fun shift   I didn't get the flu shot this pregnancy... I have no idea why maybe because I've been off on medical leave from work since Sept so my doc wasn't overly concerned... I never thought about it until now anyway

I am not that passionate about people vaccinating. However, I am VERY passionate about this. PLEASE, PLEASE do not get vaccinated while you are pregnant or shortly there after. I will explain this the best I can from how my nephrologist explained it to me the other day. While you are pregnant and shortly there after, your immune system is already hyper sensitive. When you vaccinate, this causes an overload type situation and your risk for adverse reactions sky rockets, primarily auto immune disorders. I am left with Rheumatoid Arthritis for the rest of my life, because I did not know this and I received the DTaP at discharge with my youngest.

I think I might wait until DDs born for it too. I haven't decided. Isn't it supposed to help them to be vaxed for it in te womb though? Idk much about it. I wasn't concerned until I found out shed be preemie and now I'm
Just scared of her getting anything.

Nope, none. I don't do flu shots, they are pointless. I'd only get them if I didn't have a choice (employer requiring them). I got genetic testing done. Both of my parents are adopted and family medical history is a mystery for the most part.

I will never get a flu shot, pregnant or not.
DTap, I was never offered it? But I doubt I would get that either.

Blood tests, yes I get the initial screen. It hasnt shown anything bad for us and hubby is 50 so while I am not of 'advanced maternal age' I like to get it done because of his age. I would decline an amnio if offered. I did have a scare with my oldest at my regular 20 week scan and went for a level 2 ultrasound and everything turned out fine so I declined the amnio with her.
