Does your family hunt or raise animals for your food?
Mine does. SO goes hunting pretty regularly for meat for the table. We both grew up with families who both hunt and raise animals for food and we're planning on raising our own animals soon.

SO came home today with a bunch of squirrels and we cleaned them for food.
I was proud of my man and told my friends that SO brought a good catch of food. They all seemed shocked that we'd do that.
Lol, now I'm wondering if we're like rednecks or something. Haha, redneck in denial, maybe?

Anyway, does your family hunt/raise animals for food?
If so, what animals do you hunt or raise?

My DH hunts deer.
I would love to have a farm and raise animals to eat! We plan on doing it one day and planting gardens.

my uncle goes deer hunting every year since he owns a big chunk of property in the middle of nowhere

We raise pigs, hunt deer. Sometimes have cattle. My grandfather taught me to hunt squirrel, but I'm not a big fan. Haha. I've trapped turtles as well

Nope, we rarely eat meat. If we do it is just frozen chicken.

Oh yeah, we have lots of fish in the freezer, just not what we've caught. We get it from friends who have too much. We don't go fishing much anymore. Having two young kids is rough to fish with, lol!

My dad and SO love fish, so when they catch it, it hardly EVER makes it to the freezer lmao

We don't hunt, we're not big meat eaters and the taste of game meat is gross to me.

I'm not a vegetarian or anything but I really just don't like the flavor of meat. Chicken's about the only one I can stand.

I prefer deer over cow meat, lol.
Squirrel is surprisingly good, but you gotta have several to make a decent meal. They squirrel around here are scrawny suckers under their fur. They look so fat beforehand, though.
