HELP burning to dvd

hey ladies this is a post and run but i need help !!

i have a ton of videos stored on my computer from me taking videos on my ipod and camera...i want to burn them onto a disk ..i bought writeable dvd disks...
now all i need to know is how to i get them on there and actually make it so you can view them on a dvd player or another computer?!?

If you use windows, there should be windows dvd maker somewhere on there, thats what I use to burn DDs videos
