Just a cold or something more?

My daughter woke up this morning all congested. As the day has progressed she has been seeming more lethargic and will suddenly start crying saying that the inside of her mouth hurts. I just took her temp, 102.3. Now here is my question, is this just a cold or could it be something else?

Strep throat?

Well it is flu season. Could be the flu. Call her dr and see what they think?

I just asked her if her throat hurt and she said a little. Then she started crying again saying that her mouth hurts. I cant see any sores or anything red in her mouth. This is really strange.

Ask her if it hurts when she swallows..

Does she have a fever of cough?

Fever, yes. She really isnt coughing.

well then the only other thing I could think of is an ear infection. if her ears don't hurt then just give her some Tylenol for the fever and she should be feeling better in about 24 hours!
