Best way to get rid of mice?

posted 8th Dec
So I was on the toilet and a mouse just comes strolling out from the closet. He stopped, looked me right in my eyes, and then continued on his way, squeezed under the door and into the living room.

So what's the best way to get rid of em? I don't care how cruel they are, either. I won't have a nasty ass mouse or mice around my DD's stuff. Ugh.

I'd go with the old fashion traps.

Hubby did traps when we had a mouse, the snappy ones. I felt so bad but I didnt want a mouse and its excrements around my house either. We caught it under our bed as we were going to sleep one night. Worst night of my life lol. I cried when hubby picked it up...EWWW.

We tried everything. Eventually had to stuff their mouse holes with steel wool (they cannot chew through metal.) Bought every trap on the shelf and the ONLY kind that worked were the sticky traps and killing them by hand, besides the cat. Sounds mean but whatever. I hate the smurfers.

We tried to be humane. It didn't work.

The poison is nice but it sucks ass when they start rotting in the house.

I don't think that would help. We live in a big field and our house is super, super old. I'll probably end up having to seal every hole.

mean....but my moms boyfriend got us these.

Its like an alligator, once theres pressure on the inside it snaps shut. then you open to release the dead mouse

Seal the holes with steel wool then top it off with caulk. We haven't had an issue since we did that. Usually their holes are near water sources like a water heater, the sinks, washing machine, dishwasher, etc.

I have ALOT of mice and the only thing thats working is the Decon, I have gotten rid of 7 so far and there are still more wandering around! But it does suck using that that, because they die everywhere, and I can smell their bodies rotting and have had to sniff out the smell to find the nasty little dead smurfers.

We tried old fashioned traps before, and DH would put peanut butter on them. They would eat the peanut butter and leave. Wtf right? We never caught a single mouse with them.

I caught one in a humane trap about 4 weeks after finding it doing the same thing as yours did to you. It taunted me daily, running out from under our tv cabinet, standing on my boot next to the door. I set 4 traps and it eventually got in the one under the couch. I heard a scratching one night and was like "I think I have it!!!" Then I was too scared to touch the trap so I scooped it up in a dustpan and took it outside, opened it with a stick and shat myself when the mouse jumped out and ran off.

We had 2 cats and a small dog who loved chasing things and I caught it. Lazy animals!

The no touch traps is what I used. Dont use posion or the sticky traps. They eat the posion & run into the wall & die. Then they smell AWFUL. We used the sticky traps one time & it only got its back legs so it scooted To its hole & died in the wall I felt bad because it suffered

I'll tell DH. We have some a bunch of caulk laying around because we are remodeling the back of our house. They shouldn't be getting in so easy anymore. Must just be the front of the house now.
