Quoting jordan.ℓeigh✿:" We tried old fashioned traps before, and DH would put peanut butter on them. They would eat the peanut butter and leave. Wtf right? We never caught a single mouse with them."

We had that issue as well because the mice were so small. The sticky traps worked. don't use peanut butter on the sticky traps though because the oil can screw it up. Also, put two traps side by side, sometimes they can get away. They might chew their limbs off too. They're really stupid. I smurfing hate mice.

Omg! What a little prick lol. This one was definitely testing me. He was looking at me straight in the eyes but I was on the toilet and couldn't get up!

That's the kind we have.
The other, traditional ones rack my nerves when they snap while I try to set them.

My cat, when she's feeling to it I guess, gets them too.

Old fashioned snappy traps, caulking ANY cracks or holes, steel wool around holes pipes go through, and a cat! I grew up in the country, it was a constant battle in the winter when they tried to come in from the barns.

Wow I didn't even think of that haha.

I'd have to think of somewhere to put a litter box that DD can't get to, though.

We usually kept ours in either the mud room or the bathroom...either way, if you get the ones with the covers on them (I think they're about the only kind made anymore) it discourages little fingers from exploring in it.

Even just your house smelling like a cat will discourage mice. &The brave few stragglers won't be around long.

Lol wonderful. FIL and MIL have been trying to pawn one of their cats off on us, I guess we'll take him. He's really playful and likes to hunt so hopefully he'll catch them.

I've never underestimated the intelligence if smaller animals.... Ever since seeing Mouse Hunt I wanted a pet mouse but my mum would only settle for a rat. It was quite reluctant

But I could never kill something that looks like a tiny version of something I love so much so that was the only option I could settle on. He didn't come back in though so he must have found somewhere else to live!
