This is a little late.
It was November 10th, a Saturday, and me and my husband were getting ready for the Alabama VS Texas A&M game.
I decided to check my blood pressure beings I was feeling a little funny, it was 159/98. I got worried and called one of the L&D nurses, I was told to come in and get checked. Fast forward, after my test results came back, I was told I had to stay for a 24 hour urine test because there were high protein levels in my urine. Oh and Alabama lost.
24 hours flew by, and they told me I had to be induced, they would start me on Cytotec (SP) to maybe help me dilate farther because I was only 1cm, then they would start me on Pitocin the following day. So that night they started the first round of Cytotec, I started to get a little cramping, but it was tolerable and I fell asleep, they woke me up about 3 hours later and gave me another round, the cramps got worse, and worse...then they gave me another round, and the cramps became intolerable. I was having contractions back to back with absolutely no relief. They came into the room, and told me that my babies heart rate was dropping low then getting high at every strong contraction. They took my monitors off, broke my water, and inserted the internal monitors to make sure it wasn't just the equipment. His heart rate still kept dropping and raising. They went out of the room for about 20 minutes after giving me an epidural for the pain, they came back dressed for surgery and with my husbands gown and cap in their hands, they told me I had to have a c-section because my baby wasn't tolerating labor. *WARNING* My c-section was very traumatic, I wasn't fully numbed. I could explain to you the tools they used, I could feel the them pushing around my insides, or what felt like it. I told the anesthesiologist that I could feel it, and he gave me more pain relief that didn't work, I was moaning and white with pain. After what felt like forever, I heard the sweetest cry, they showed me him before taking him to get cleaned up, and he was absolutely perfect.. He was born 6lbs, 12 oz and 19 inches long.
He's my angel, I love him with all of my heart.
