Potty Training a Two Year Old?

My daughter turned two in October. She's very bright and has expressed an interest in her mini potty.
My siblings and I notoriously potty trained late at 3 3 1/2. I'd like to PT my daughter before the age of three if possible.
An old friend of my mom used some book to PT her kids under 3, but I have no idea what and she is no longer in touch with her.
Anyone know what the book might be, or have any advice?

My best advice: don't follow a book. Go with the flow and find out what's best for you and DD. I never read one potty training book and I had my DD day time trained in 1 week (before she was 2). The key to potty training is your kid being ready.

She seems ready, I guess we just need to try and be more consistent
with her.

my niece was potty trained before she turned 2.. bt i think every process is different... & takes alot of time, energy & patience

my sister had a kids book for her nephew to read at 2years 5months. dunno what it was called but it was about some sort of animal being potty trained (lol). They read it twice and instantly he wanted to be big like this potty trained animal thing and he hated nappies from then on and was trained within a week. no nappies at night or anything.

She also made a treasure chest and gold coins to give him whenever he did a wee or poo in the potty. that made him really wanna do it cause he likes putting the coins in the box  

now at 2years 7months he goes on the loo like we do. (obvioulsy with a child toilet seat attatched)   Clever little thing!

I would take my stepdaughter to the restroom, with me, and one day, she saw my 'pretty' panties lol. She said, "Mommy, I want some!" So, I just explained that if I bought her some 'pretty' panties, she wouldnt be able to wear diapers anymore and would have to use the big potty. She agreed, and it took one day to get the hang of it. It was awesome, I was so proud of her. She still had accidents every now and then, mostly due to not going to the bathroom in time, kids get into what they are doing, just like we do. But by the time she was 3, all was done and she had no more accidents.   Good luck! Ive never heard of using a book. I like that coin idea, too.

I'm assuming this book is in the UK, but the U.S. may have their own version?
I know she's interested, just need to find something to focus her more.
The gold coins is a good idea. She likes playing with money lol.

Aww thank you. The pretty panties just might work because my DD loves pretty stuff. Especially shoes lol.

ah yes! the pants thing too. my nephew had fireman sam pants and that really helped him too cause he wanted to wear them instead of nappies.
