An over the counter antacid pill like Zantac or nexium.

Mine was so bad with my second pregnancy that it was up in my esophagus and I kept choking. I ended up having to get a prescription from my OB to go on Nexium and my heartburn was gone within a few days.

Pickle Juice! Or milk... I used to eat tums like candy. Zantac works great too!

Zantac or Pepcid twice a day. That's what I did with DD. I had heartburn all day every day from 14 weeks til she came out. Usually they did the trick although sometimes they wouldn't work. I also chew/sucked on peppermint candies

Oh! The new tums refreshers or fresheners or whatever they're called are great, too. I've been popping them like bloody tic tacs.

Pepcid max. I've had horrible heartburn from the beginning and Tums do not work for me.

Pickle juice or mustard, which ever you can stomach better lol.

If you have heartburn more than a couple times a week you should really let your dr know about it.
*Diet changes
*Tums
*Milk
*Mylanta
*Zantac (ask dr)
*Prilosec (ask dr)
*drink a glass of water after every meal
*chew gum after meals
*dont eat 2-3 hours before bed
*limit caffeinated drinks
*dont drink water before bedtime
*elevate your head while sleeping

OMG I have heartburn from HELL like 3 or 4 times a month for a couple days at a time and I swear I ate an apple the other morning when I had it and it went away!!!!!!!

Increase your fiber. Cut back on dairy, citrus, caffeine and carbonation.
For immediate relief try a teaspoon of baking soda with some warm water.
Remain upright for 2 hours after eating.
Try taking Zantac, Prevacid or another acid reducer/blocker.
Eat a teaspoon of mustard.

Take a shower. Warm water, and let it hit your chest area. It helps with mine. I get heartburn really bad and tums and other meds do not help as much as a shower.

The only thing thats ever worked for me is Gaviscon, it comes in tablets or liquid, its a life saver!
