Gestational Diabetes test

Im planning on doing my test tomorrow after delaying it for the last 2 weeks.. I still get morning sickness if i dont eat so im kinda worried that im going to throw up the nasty drink they give you because i have to fast for 10 hours.. i just dont want to risk having to do it again because i puked up the drink.. but im not sure i can eat something small before going cause it might screw up my results. Have any of you ladies had a bite to eat before doing the test and everything turned out fine?(obviously something with no sugar, if anything)

No. I fasted like they told me to.

Anything you eat can affect the results.

Do not eat.
I ate a freaking piece of toast and failed my GD test horribly.
Went in for my 3 hour (didn't eat) passed with flying colors.

Okay yeah, my doctor said i can take my diclectin but i still get kinda sick so hopefully everything works out.. id really rather not take it again being there for 2 hours is enough for me,

I ate 2 saltines before mine and failed. But I actually had gd.

I was allowed wheat cereal with no sugar and mine went fine! How odd  

i dont think i have it because she said you get it mostly when it runs in your family and no one in my family has ever gotten it, and im a pretty healthy person in general but i guess you never know, i hope to god i dont have it because i dont want to stick a needle in my belly or anywhere all the time.. i always dont want to have to do it again for any reason, ill just try with no food and hope for the best, if they say at the hospital i can eat something ill make my husband get me food lol

Try hard to fast. I didn't do well on my 2 1 hour glucose test and failed with flying colors. and my first 3 hour i passed 3 out of 4 and my last 3 hour I passed because I fasted correctly and didn't drink as much water during fasting as i did the first time around. But, I did have the stomach flu after the first 3 hour that put me into preterm labor so if you haven't done so already get that flu shot. i saves your body A LOT OF HEALING TIME AND ANXIETY!

yikes that sounds terrible i had my flu shot on halloween so i should be fine

they can give pills instead of shots  
i cant give myself injections but it was trial and error with my pill doseage for a while.

Thats not so bad, my friend had it and the doctor made her give herself a shot before she left and she had to do it in her belly... i dont think i could ever give myself a needle lol

honestly, the needles are TINY if it ever came to that.. im sure i could.. but i'd have to close my eyes and wing it lol.

I don't want to alarm you. I had gd. I'm a small person meaning I was perfect weight for my height. I lost weight during my first trimester due to morning sickness and I had a healthy diet. Diabetes doesn't run in my family. My doctor told me if he didn't have to test everyone he wouldn't have bothered testing me. I had no warning signs and I only gained 20 lbs total my whole pregnancy. However I was able to avoid any medication for it with exercise.

I had GD and was able to control it with just diet alone, no pills or insulin shots. I had to test my b/s 4 times a day
