3.5 is the worst. It seems like every half year they turn into poop heads.. We are finally out of the 3.5 year stage, and now my daughter is so fun to be around.

I have no idea how to handle his outbursts. I try to stay calm, but it comes to a point where I have to walk away and ignore his screaming, kicking, crying etc.

I miss my sweet little boy

well, ignoring IS a pretty good idea... lol. I did a lot of that. if he had a tantrum in the store I'd just walk away. lmao

it gets better when they're 4, at least to me.

I know it's hard, but try and give him words to go with his feelings. It has helped so much for my daughter, she will tell me she is mad, frustrated, sad ect.. We don't have many outburst at all.

Oh wow! At 18 months he started getting attitude and I though he was hitting the terrible twos early, then at 2 he got better (or I got use to it lol ) but now he's just over 2.5 and is awful .

I try taking him to a quiet room and ask him what he's feeling and if he knows why he's feeling that way. Sometimes it works, but most the time I let him sit in the quiet by himself for a bit to calm down while I go try to gather my sanity.

We've started that recently. He's become more away of his feelings and what words to use to express them. Sitting with him and talking it out helps sometimes, but the majority of the time we both need a time out to try to gather ourselves and calm down.

Yep, just expect every half year will be pretty bad. It has to do with their developmental stages. I've beed reading "Your 3 Year Old.. friend Or Foe.". It's from the 70's so the info on how to handle a situation so very dated, but the developmental information is very spot on. They have these books for every age I think. It really was nice to know that even though it was tough, it is very normal.
