Gender scan at 19 weeks or 23 weeks?

posted 7th Dec
My SO is convinced that a gender scan at 23 weeks is more likely to be accurate than at my 19 weeks appointment. He was told his son was a girl at 18 weeks, but this was almost 10 years ago! I really want to call back and reschedule for my 19 week appointment instead - but would YOU trust a 23 week gender scan more than a 19 week one? (Doesn't feel like a huge difference to me).

I didn't find out the sex till 27 weeks, so i don't think it would hurt to wait till 23 weeks if it makes him feel better.

No difference. They should be pretty developed by then. I found out boy at 19w6d and was confirmed at 25 weeks. Still boy.

Nah all depends on the doctor. I say 19 weeks is fine. I found out at 14 weeks I was having a girl and now she's 10 months old

Goit mine done at 20wks and they said he is a boy and 2 us later and a 4d he is still a boy. Depends on how good the tech is but I would feel more comfortable waiting. The longer you wait the more accurate they are.

I found out at 19 weeks he was a boy, and they checked at each u/s I had after and he was always a boy. And now he's 11 weeks old. I would trust the 19 week scan but if he would feel better with the 23 week then I would be ok with that.

I mean, I don't plan on buying anything right away anyway, so I'll probably wait till 23 weeks....just gonna bug me until then, I'm impatient lol.

I had mine done at 17 weeks they said it was a boy then behind my back told my doctor that they were unsure and it could possibly be a girl! I'll be 28 weeks (7 mo) at my next u/s with a more accurate and trusted tech lol, hopefully they can tell me then! good luck! even if you don't get to find out the gender, seeing a healthy baby is the most important thing!

At 17 weeks I was told girl, and at 26 weeks was told she was still a girl. I don't think there's much of a difference.

There wouldn't be much difference. I had my Anatomy scan at 16 weeks this time around, Had another at 19 and then 24.. Baby pretty much looked the same every US and was still a girl! lol
