Welp. This BLOWS!

Went in for the growth scan today. Baby is measuring about 4 pounds and 2 ounces. He's also very breech. The doctor is having me come in to the office 2 times a week now. He said he's going to get me to 38 weeks and then we'll be looking at a c-section.

 

I'm just really discouraged and a little scared about all of it. I was trying SO hard to not have a c-section and it's looking like it's my only option...

BUT...we got a peek at a 4D ultrasound today and found out that he has hair!

Is he basing the C-section solely on the fact that baby is breech? Because they can turn 5 minutes before you give birth...

You dont HAVE to have a c-section, yet.

There is PLENTY of time for baby to move head down, tell your doctor to not get ahead of themselves.

It's never your only option. Baby can turn anytime, even right before labor. Don't let the Dr. force a C Section on you if you don't want it.

Don't stress, i'm sure he meant c section IF baby doesn't move. Baby very well could move. DD was breech up until 36ish weeks, then flipped and has been head down ever since. Look on the positive side mama, LO CAN flip!

I figured it was growth. My kid was estimated 7.7 pounds around 37 weeks

Sounds like he is making excuses to give you a c-section.
The weight things are never exact either...
For example my niece apparently was 10 pounds via ultrasound came out 6 pounds.
My nephew was 5 pound via ultrasound came out 9 pounds something ounces.

Don't let him push it on you. Those growth u/s can be off by a few pounds.

a pound or two off sure but only 4 pounds?? seems not normal to me. OP is almost 37 weeks

Yeah. His head was measuring 31 weeks and I'm 36 weeks and some days now. I know he's small, we've always known he was going to be a small baby. But I never thought by that much! My uterus has been measuring 3 weeks behind for the past 2 visits, so the growth scan kind of...confirmed that he's not growing as he should be.

I'd be alright if the baby would turn and we could just be induced, but...I just don't feel that is going to happen. :/

Hmmm, at 36 weeks, DD was 4 pounds and some ounces, and doc wasn't worried about it. At 37 weeks, she was 5 pounds 3 ounces. Now their saying she's gonna be big. Thats what i'm going off of.

That doesn't sound weird to you? They grow about a pound a week at that stage. So at 40 weeks, by your U/S weight guess, he would be 7-8lbs.

Not if he has BEEN behind like she says. His head measuring that small is a sign maybe the baby isn't growing just as he should be.
