Itchiness while Breastfeeding?

Lately the side of my breasts are itchy when she's not latched. But when I have her on the breast eating, I tend to itch a lot under my underarms and on the side of my breast by my underarm. Is that normal or am I just going crazy? Lol

i don't think i have dry skin in those areas. It feels pretty moist. But I have had eczema on my hands since I was young and now that I'm breastfeeding a lot, it has gotten worse. To the point where it's spreading a little and itches like crazy. I think it's lack of water but that's not the case on my boobs and my underarm :/

That use to happen to me!

My areolas and armpits tend to itch while DS is eating too  

Does the itching feel like it's under your skin, or does it feel like it's over your skin? If under the skin and only lasting a minute or two it could be let down as your breast tissue extends all the way under your arms.

Otherwise it could be thrush or a rash from dampness. If you're using breast pads with plastic, there is an increased chance of yeast build up in your bra and under your arms as well. Just some suggestions.

it could be letdown then. it feels deep in the skin because scratching the area doesn't even seem to relieve it lol. wouldn't the baby have thrush or yeast infection of the mouth or something if that's wat it was? I took her to a doc appointment like a week or so ago and she has no signs of thrush or yeast infection or anything. It's only recently that I have been feeling this itchiness. It kinda sucks lol

Sometimes it can be transferred. Some women feel the letdown from pretty far back. Personally I feel like i can feel it all the way around to my back - I'm probably delusional though because I don't even think there is any breast tissue back there lol.
