What Do You Ladies Think?

I'm 3 cm dilated, 90% effaced. Baby is head down, he's dropped. I had some bloody mucus the other day. I know all this really doesn't indicate me going into labor soon. But I would like to know how long you ladies think it will be?


I haven't had many contractions at all. So that is the main reason why I think I still have a while to go. But everyone else thinks it will be very soon. Opinions? TIA!

Could be days, could be weeks.
I saw a woman walk around fully effaced and 5cm for 2 weeks before she finally went into labor.

You could go tomorrow, or not go for a week. When my son was born, I went from having no contractions at all, to they started immediately being regularly 10 minutes apart.

You'll be in the hospital in 3 days, might not have your LO till 4...

I was the exact same way. Nothing, and then, BAM! I was in labor with regular, strong, painful contractions.

I was 2-3 cm's and 100% effaced at 38 weeks (May 8th). My appointment was at 10 that morning. By midnight that night, 38 weeks one day I was in full blown labor, I went from 2-3 to 5-6 by 9 am and had her at 4:07 pm on May 9th .

A momma on here has been 5cm 100% for four weeks now. They're finally going to break her water on Thursday.

This means nothing other than POSSIBLY a shorter labor (because of the dilation progress). But this is no indicator as to when you'll go in labor. Good luck!

Its hard to tell. U could walk around like that for a few weeks. With my daughter at 35 weeks I was one cm and 60%. Then at 36 I was two cms and 70%. I didn't have her until 41 weeks and even then I was induced. And contractions don't necessarily mean anything either. With my son I hadn't had a contraction at all (not even BH contractions) and all of a sudden one night I started having really bad contractions that were 3-4 minutes apart. Hang in there!

Thanks for the responses, y'all. I figured the progress didn't mean much. Hopefully your right Ames & it will be a shorter labor (I'm terrified).

I understand   But for this to be your first I'm jelly at you being 3cm already! Hell, my water broke a day before 40 weeks and when I got to L&D I was only a TWO   Anyway, it will be as bad as you expected but easier to overcome and get through than you thought it would be

I'm shocked honestly. I thought I would have made no progress. Everyone tells me that it really is probably the worst pain to ever experience, but once the baby is here I'll forget all about it. I hope I can get through it with no medication, but I am such a big baby when it comes to pain.

I think you'll have your baby before me and if I have gunner before than I will be so surprised lol. I give you a week tops
