Hives caused by a prior virus?

Has anyone dealt with this and how long did the hives stick around for? DD had a virus 2 weeks ago and now she is having hives on and off for the last 3 days (to some degree she will spots on her at all times) Her pedi seems to think its from a virus she had a few weeks ago

They could last a week. Possibly even longer. It all depends on how long it takes your LO to fight off the virus.

She had a virus over 2 weeks ago not acting sick at all. This just really weird. They started off as little bumps and now she big patches of them.

Sometimes viruses linger or it could be a new virus (that she didn't get sick from). Is the rash her only symptom? My DD got hives all the time from viruses (though she would never get sick) when she was younger.

Yes the hives are her only symptom. She has never had hives before. She has had a few rashes (yeast rashes, Roseola) she had a slight rash for 2 days after her fever broke but she hasn't had anything since until 3 days ago. They started off as what looked like bug bites all over her abdomen now she has the patchiness that hives look like.
