WIC

posted 7th Dec
So the WIC program in my area has walk-in hours and I was planning on going in soon. What should I expect?
And before you judge, my boyfriend and I have just run into some financial difficulty lately and I don't plan on permanently being on WIC. However, I'll do what I need to do to support my son.
But anyways, I have no idea what to expect when I go in. What do I need to bring?

You need to bring ID, income proof, and a bill that has your name.

you'll need proof of pregnancy as well.

no shame here. When you need it you need it   Bring, proof of residency... like a rent receipt or something. Proof of income. I think they need one month worth of paystubs or something similar. For you (if you work) and anyone else that works in your home. Proof of pregnancy, though I was recent;y told that was unnecessary. If you have it, bring it anyway. I can't think of anything else.

When I went to get on WIC they didn't need my proof of pregnancy. They said it was recently changed... not sure if that's everywhere or just here.

I got a slip for 'proof of pregnancy' in the beginning of my pregnancy, just in case I ever needed it, so I think it's required in my state. What if I don't have a bill in my name? I do pay bills, but they aren't in my name.

I didn't need a bill in my name. Not sure why they need that. They were happy with ID and rent receipt and paystubs. Call them and ask if you really need it.

Who's name are they in? Your boyfriends? In my state you need income and ID's for everyone in the house and a bill for the household.

Honestly just call and ask.. then you don't risk the chance of going there and not having something they need.
