I'm curious here....
How big is the mucus plug?
I lost a bit of my mucus plug at 34 weeks but hadn't seen much of it since. Now every single time I go to the bathroom there is some on the tp, in the toilet or both! I know its common to see it, and the discharge I have is very mucus-y and kinda stringy, but seriously, how much can I possibly lose before there's none left? lol

Also, my doctor did sweep my membrane (i think thats what he called it) when I went in on Wed. I'd had the thickening discharge the day before that but I wasn't losing the mucus plug that fast.

ine was about the size of a quarter. SO was in the bathroom when i lost it & his reaction was "oh thats gross, what is that?"

Given all the horny/sex threads going on right now I full expected this thread to be about penis size!

It regenerates so it can slowly just keep coming out.

I knew that too but with mine coming out so often and rapidly I wasn't sure how fast it would regenerate.

Also, I thought of the whole sex/horny threads thing too *after* i posted it lol

why have u had ur sweep done so soon??
r u sure ur waters arent comin away slowly? same happened with me with my first born and sounds similar

Lots of doctors will start offering membrane sweeps after 37 weeks. I had mine done after 40 weeks.

not in the uk as far as I'm aware, you only get a sweep after 40 weeks

I have no idea; he asked if I wanted to have my cervix checked and for my peace of mind I did. Then he said he was sweeping it so I may have some discomfort. I thought it was normal to be swept at this point?

I heard the mucus-y discharge was normal... and now today I think I've had my bloody show. Discharge was increased when I woke up and it had a bloody tinge to it.

I was wondering the same thing. I had another sweep today, just went to the bathroom and there were globs of mucous... Like a lot :/ I saw a tinge of red in one too. I hope this sweep worked
