odd breastfeeding question

posted 7th Dec
Wasnt quite sure where to put this, anyway DS had a ton of issues breastfeeding, and on top of that surgery at a young age, and the inability to eat...thus my milk dried up. He's now 2 and suffers from chronic food allergies...some of which being milk & soy & nuts, leaving his options to be nutramigen-a stinky, horrid formula. well DD is scheduled here in 10 days, so...more human milk, would you be comfortable giving your older child breastmilk if they were able to tolerate it/like it? (given that nursing was .established well with #2) I know there are plenty of nursing toddlers on here, same thing? except Im sure he'd prefer it in a sippy. Is it worth a shot?

If he is happy to drink it then i would definitely give it to him. I tried to give my 3 year old some when my son was born and she cried and said it was disgusting lol

My 3.5 year old (weaned on 2nd birthday) is already asking if he can "eat your boobies when the baby eats your boobies" because "boobies are delicious."

I'd give it to him in a cup now, though, just because a 4 year old as big as mine would be damn hard to hold to nurse and awkward as hell to start back direct nursing after both of us losing practice on toddler holds, haha

Probably not. Wouldn't you need to eliminate all the things he's allergic to from your diet if you plan to give him your BM?

Haha, he's very picky...but he drinks nutramigen basicly all day...and it smells like barf and can not taste very good. He's just so so allergic to everything else. It would honestly be wonderful...because if he liked the taste I could get him off the bottle too.

My three year old loves breast milk. He hasn't had any since 9 months old until he was 2 and now, he brings me a cup and signs milk meaning my breast milk. He will sign more, but I'm not good at expressing so he only gets an oz or two.

I basically already have, I dont keep his high allergins in the house. when we first started seeing the allergist he was still a noob & breastfeeding as much as he could despite how sick he was, they told me what to eliminate from my diet, now that he's older I just do it to avoid the risk.

Does he drink coconut milk? DD has a dairy, and egg allergy.
